'Avoid physical greetings such as handshaking, hugs and kisses.'
I chose to look at the hispanic community as I have personal relationships with many spanish speakers. I reached out to them and asked how they have felt during COVID. Fortunately, many of them speak good english, however they did tell me that they found it difficult to adhere to social distancing rules, as hugging, kissing and partying are a big part of their culture. I tried to reflect this attitude in the poster I have created.

Posters are being sold with proceeds going to the not for profit organisation Connection Art Space. Connection Art Space works with artists from migrant and asylum seeker backgrounds to host exhibitions and workshops in the city of Greater Dandenong, Victoria. Greater Dandenong is one of the most culturally diverse municipalities in all of Australia, with 2/3 of residents speaking a language other than English at home. Connection Art Space’s values of diversity and community align with those of Mistranslations and we hope to support their plight through the sale of our posters.
